However, PV, driven by a different vision, harbored a dream of making her own country proud on the global stage rather than chasing a lucrative salary abroad. Opting to follow her heart, she decided to relocate to Jaipur and delve into the world of small-scale jewelry manufacturing, operating under the name of her husband, DS.
Viewing this opportunity as a means to both start a family and pursue her entrepreneurial aspirations, PV got aspired to operate a small job work unit, which soon blossomed into a fully-fledged proprietorship company boasting a workforce of 50 employees and 15 staff members. With a knack for multitasking, PV adeptly managed the operations, attracting corporate clients from major metro cities.
From the outset, PV envisioned positioning her company as a consumer-facing brand, aiming to maximize profit margins by eliminating intermediaries. Initiating partnerships with online marketplaces and developing the company’s website were pivotal steps in this direction. Simultaneously, PV excelled in client acquisition in the B2B sector, ensuring impeccable customer service remained at the forefront.
As PV’s strategic acumen propelled the company forward, disaster struck in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic, throwing the global business landscape into disarray. Tragically, PV also faced the loss of a crucial business ally, her brother-in-law, DJ. In the face of adversity, PV stepped up as a leader, collaborating with other stakeholders to sustain production and navigate through turbulent times.
Determined to maintain autonomy and cater to the evolving demands of the market, PV ventured into establishing a new venture under her own name, launching “Gem O World.” This move not only reflected her resilience but also marked a strategic shift towards independent decision-making and product development tailored to global trends.
